ARTISTIC STATEMENT
I am a dancer, performer, choreographer, student, photographer and an artist. Each of these roles are critical to encompassing my true identity and purpose in life within the arts. I am drawn to individualism, authenticity, musicality, and curiosity through dance and art as a whole. Growing up, my life was built around dance classes, dance competitions, recitals, and the nutcracker. In my later years, I explored other artistic interests in singing, theatre, writing/drawing, and photography. I find great beauty and appreciation through nature and adventure. For my future, I intend to maintain both of my interests in photography and dance as I travel to new parts of the world. In addition to these aspirations, I find great happiness and experience working with disabled persons, for I wish to explore the therapeutic components of dance as well. Experience and vulnerability are very important to artistic investigation as I desire to learn new genres of dance on and off the stage through different cultures. Not only do I plan to dance in my future, but I also plan to capture and express the natural beauty of the world through photography.
